Foodie Heroes Episode 1 - Frank Torres - El Toucan Cafe

Frank Torres - El Toucan Cafe

Frank Torres came to Australia at the young age of 16 with his mother Fanny. His passion for his culture, food and community runs deep and is easily evident in the way he expresses it.

Frank owns and operates the El Toucan Cafe, located in the aquatic centre in the inner-western suburb of Maribyrnong.

We sat down with Frank to hear his story and journey with food.

I was born in Columbia, been in Australia for about 30 years now. I came to Australia with the dream of maybe bringing South American food and putting it into the picture. Food’s always been my passion, I live and breathe hospitality, I love working with community. I’m just blessed to be able to have the opportunity to share some of my culture with people. To bring that experience to the Australian community. We are hundreds and thousands of miles away from home and now we actually able to put some of these amazing ingredients in one plate, for everybody to try.
